I second the coconut oil. This is sometimes a sign that you are dehydrated. Drinking tea and adding chia to things like lemonade and smoothies is a good way to solve this. Best of luck!

Try adding bulky greens as well-- i.e. broccoli, zucchini, yellow squash, green peppers etc. And lots of it.

I second the bulky greens, but more volume of healthy fats wil loosen things up a bit.

All of the above are great ideas to get things "moving", but if all else fails, all little castor oil should do the trick :) It tastes horrible, but ALWAYS gets the job done! Good luck, hope you get to feeling better soon! I hate feeling that way... You guys ever see those commercials where the lady is all weighed down from being constipated? I always think of those whenever I start feeling too "full", lol!

Get the clear mixing Fiber-Sure. It stirs in clear and you can bake and cook with it, too. There is no flavor and it adds 5g Fiber for 1 tsp. I used it when I was eating meat and dairy, but I went vegan and have NO problem in the poo area now.

Sorry I didn't read this before you went out to buy stuff to get "stuff" moving.... WATER is a powerful force, if you are drinking enough of it. I prefer mine with lemon but with or without it moves things along that otherwise may just not wanna budge. This next statement will be "descriptive" as I know no other way to say it & still get the point across.....you'll know if you are drinking enough when your "stuff" resembles a snake. :D Explanation: Our intestines are snake-like in shape & when our "stuff" resembles that we know that *everything* is being "moved" out properly. :D Peanut,marble,ball-like shapes (or similar) means enough water is NOT being consumed & our "drain is clogged" somewhere. :D

There is a tea called "smooth move" - yep, does exactly what it says. This will help as you work on inlcuing more fiber and water into your diet. good luck!

Taking probiotics can help. (They do a lot of the work, anyway.) There are chew-able tablets you can take so as to not ruin your Atkins diet.

Flor-a is a liquid form, but that is more for diarrhea, from what I understand

I tried Atkins several years ago and it left me feeling constipated and really icky! Now I am a medical student and have learned that we need carbs, lots of them for our cells to have the energy they need to multiply and replace old cells. Cells like our red blood cells that are VITAL for oxygen exchange with our lungs and delivery of oxygen to our body. It is no wonder the Atkins diet left me weak.
Like you said we are all learning here and Atkins did teach me the value of protein and I love their meal bars for a meal on the go. The shakes in a carton are handy too! I looked up the recommended daily values for Carbohydrates, Fats and Protein for myself and here is what I found:
•Carbohydrates: 45 to 65 percent of total daily calories
•Fat: 20 to 35 percent of total daily calories
•Protein: 10 to 35 percent of total daily calories
I hope Atkins does work for you, but if not, there is always more to learn along our journey to health :)

Kim, we are all learning (always learning). Part of learning as we go is appreciating when other people share what they do know or have experienced befor ;-) Also I have to remind myself that the tone we read typed words with in our head isn't necessarily the tone they were typed with. I hope you feel better very soon *hugs*
