Once a month I fry up and entire package of bacon and eat the entire thing...I can make it last two days. That is my diet cheat.

Reducing the sodium will help blood pressure and definitely help with water retention. I never was a big bacon eater, but will occasionally bake one-pound thick-cut on baking sheet in oven. Will crumble half into 1-inch and larger pieces; the rest into much smaller bits. Will ziploc and toss in freezer and have some available whenever I'm adding a little kick to a recipe (i.e., large pieces in a quiche and smaller ones sprinkled on a soup.
