I know, right? You can combat an OD by pounding water and having a tomato (just don't put salt on it, LOL) or a banana. Watermelon also has good potassium and K fights sodium overdose and helps expel it more quickly!

This is a hard one for me. You know how a spoonfull of sugar helps the medicine go down? Well, for me it is a sprinkling of salt helps the healthy stuff go down. Sometimes you just have to pick your poison.

I'm a salt person too BuffyBear. I never realized how much salt I consume until I started entering my intake here on FS. Blechhhhhhhhhh - LOL. Now I psych myself into thinking my blood pressure is high!! Hahahahahahaha :O/ I won't be able to eliminate it but I'm sure I can improve it. Today I had over 3000 whatevers of sodium. It is supposed to be around 1500-1800. Good grief. If I'm retaining water because of all that sodium, I could be causing slower weight loss, or so it would seem. Anyway, that's my take on it. Have a good day.

If your blood pressure is high then maybe you should take heed! Good luck because that stuff is in everything.

ACTUALLY...if you read the medical studies about sodium intake, if you're on an Atkins or Keto type diet, it is absolutely necessary to get enough sodium in your diet. Being sodium deficient is extremely bad for your health. It's been proven that a low carb diet in itself will lower your blood pressure, not lowering your sodium intake. You should be salting EVERYTHING...but not with regular table salt as it has little nutritional value because of all the processing it receives prior to being sold in the store. It is preferable to use a mineralized sea salt such as Celtic Sea Salt or Himalayan Pink salt. They are very high in trace minerals and are made by simply drying salt water (either from an ocean source or spring-fed/glacial source)
