Janelleas's Journal, 12 Feb 09

Thanks for your concern. I have acupuncture appt tomorrow Friday and doc appointment on Monday Feb. 16th. I am not considering this an "emergency" since I don't think it is life threatening, so did not tell docs office it was an emergency... I can wait my turn. Still in pain but it has let up slightly from when it started. Cannot sit for very long so am not at computer much. I am eating right but not exercising. Im pretty much on the sofa with pillows behind me watching tv (boring!). Lost almost half a pound doing nothing

Glad you have the acupuncture-I had tremendous results regarding hip and lower back pain, so hope it will help you too. Sounds like you need some imaging tests to see what is going on...Television is the worst-unless you have a season's worth of DVDs of a show you have always wanted to see...Awesome weight loss though! You will have to change to the "couch potato plan" ha! I hope you continue to improve as the weekend progresses BUT still go to the doctor even if you feel better. I know, I am so bossy lately. Must be all the protein powder I am taking.

Be careful with your back till you find out what's wrong and what you'll be able to do. Good luck!

I've seen a near miracle occur with acupuncture where western medicine had failed repeatedly. A person very close to me had terrible pains in her back for about a year and nothing the doctors could do would relieve it. She finally went to an Asian doctor who used an electric device the size of a small iron that had tiny needles in it and worked like a sort of sewing machine. He traced her backbone with it once and when she left the doctor's clinic, the terrible pain which had been almost crippling her was completely gone. It never returned. She spent weeks speaking of it in total amazement. I too couldn't believe that all that suffering was gone in a matter of ten minutes. It's not what people think of when they hear acupuncture, but it was a kind of acupuncture according to what the doctor told us.

I wish I could have done a better job writing that but it's very late and I'm very tired just having come home.

thanks all. information I have never had acupuncture before but I realize that any medical technique that has existed for thousands of years must have some credibility. I've heard great things about this one, so will be leaving in a few hours to have my first session (maybe just this one trip will do it!). I feel a little better each day but still cannot sit for very long. As long as I stay down on the couch with pillows behind me I feel okay. Lost a little more weight today. Whats up with that?? laying around being a couch potato and losing weight?? I have tweaked my diet a little and am actually eating more, maybe that is what I needed to do all along. Stop trying to save calories and just follow the darn diet the way it should be done. Only time will tell.

My uncle is an acupuncturist in NYC. Several years ago while visiting us he had everyone laying around acupunctured. Really cool. None of us had pain to heal, but it did make you relax and feel serene. Very cool experience.
