no exercise today. Back area is really painful today and I have no idea why. It doesn't feel like muscle pain or bone/joint pain. hard to describe. The pain is constant, took some Ibprufin (sp?) that did not help, then later took tylenol ...no help. Will not exercise today and hopefully whatever it is will be gone tomorrow.

hmmm don't like the sound of that. Wonder if a gentle stretching will help? Just in case, here's the one I do..(because I sit in a chair all day and when I get busy my posture evaporates). Lie face down with arms and legs extended. Arms should be in "superman' position. Gently raise one arm and the opposite leg ever so slightly from the floor and reach forward and back elongating the spine. Repeat on opposite sides. Failing that-what about a heating pad? Maybe you have cold kidneys? Not joking-not sure if there is a medical term for it but that's how it feels sometimes. Hot bath or heat helps. Hope you feel better!

I hope the pain clears up quickly and isn't something more complicated. If you experience any nausea, be wary of a kidney infection. I had one a long time ago and it gave me the worst back pain.

Hope your back gets better soon. I agree with the others that you should see your doctor if the pain doesn't subside.

i was going to suggest the hot and cold alternative...heat the area and when the swelling is down...ice it...do that every couple of hours...hope this helps...get better...

thanks all, no exercise again for me today. Backside still hurts but a long hot shower helped to ease it some and I am on heavy doeses of Ibprufin (sp?) with just a little relief. I am thinking that I might have overdone it on the treadmill which is now at it's highest incline. I will give it til Thursday morning and if it isn't better I will call my doc. I probably just strained something on my one hour uphill 3.5 mph treadmil walk. Taking it easy for a while.

My word J-60 mins uphill at 3.5 is awesome!!! Well done. Maybe alternate the incline next time so your back is not strained? And remember what we know about interval training? I should stop lecturing and take my own advice!!! Make sure you are eating with that medication. Opps, there I go lecturing again-most be channeling my father today. Hope you feel better real soon.
