Julie Nims's Journal, 06 Feb 14

WOW was yesterday a fiasco. All was smooth sailing until dinner. I decided to make some meatballs. I made them with ground beef and lots of seasoning. I rolled them all out (I made enough to freeze) and popped them in the oven. I went back to check on them 10 minutes later and was greeted by a HUGE grease fire in my oven. I believe some oil from baked potatoes weeks earlier finally ignited. I proceeded to panic and throw salt on the fire (and subsequently all over the meatballs and my kitchen!). Good news, my house didn't burn down. Bad news, dinner was ruined. At this point I was exhausted and defeated. My kitchen was a MESS and I was just done. I caved and ordered a pizza. I only had 2 slices but I definitely was not on plan. This morning was a new day. I cleaned the kitchen and I have been following by diet. Instead of beating myself up for one bad night.. I am celebrating getting back on plan this morning and not taking this as a big defeat. Positive vibes. We all have bad days.
