Lack of sleep sucks! I was at the emergency room for 7 hours last night with my 8 year old son. I thought he had appendicitis, severe pain in his lower right abdomin, low grade fever, couldn't straighten up without wincing in pain, but after being poked and proded and going through a catscan they found out he has Messenteric Adenitis which is an infection in his lymphnods the has basically the same symptons as appendicitis. It was very stressful and I was very worried and my husband couldn't be with me so I was alone and my son was scared, and so was I. But it all will be fine, they can treat it with antibiotics and told me that its a fairly common thing I've just never heard of it. On the up side I didn't eat anything last night because we left for the ER before supper and I didn't want to eat in front of my son when he could eat, because we didn't know what was going on and by the time we got home I was so tired and stressed out all I wanted to do was go to bed. Hope everyone has a great day today. And thanks for listening or should I say reading. I really appreciate all the comments and encouragment I get from everyone on this site!! We can do this!!!

I am so sorry about last night, your poor son, what a horrible experience. I do not know anything about Messenteric Adenitis but he was able to come home, with meds I would think, so I assume all is well or will be. Ok, it is over. Let it go, not easy I know, I am the queen of holding onto stress and I know what it does. I hope your son is doing better, I have children, they are grown now but I know how much stress there was when they were not well. Mama, even when they are grown and out of the house you will still worry about them, it comes with the territory. I hope you have been able to get some rest. Take care, Mo

I'm so glad your son is ok, I too have never heard of that infection, how scarey for you and bless his little heart! I hope you've caught up on some of that sleep by now, take care and have a great Friday and weekend! (O:
