Evie1010's Journal, 11 Jan 11

Finding myself a bit 'stuck' I am determined to figure out how to fix it. I decided to do some detective work and really study my past victories on this WL journey in hopes to implement again what has worked well for me to jumpstart my January WL. My findings were pretty interesting.

I went back to the times when my WL was most rapid - losing a pound a day or at least 3-4# per week. I wanted to see exactly what I was eating, and what my daily RDI and percentiles were for those respective days.

I noticed that most of the days I was eating about the same foods as I currently am right now, except for one factor. The soup. Every single day that I ate my low-carb creation of Vegetable Beef Soup resulted in a one pound WL the following day. Every single day without fail. Isn't that interesting? I made a big batch of it in November (the week before leaving for Cancun) and the duration of time I was eating it, my WL was most rapid. The same in December - I made a big batch and nursed on that for several days, and the same thing happened. Rapid WL that particular week. That is really the only difference I see in my diet calender.

Here are some similarities I have seen during those respective rapid WL weeks and now, compared to what I am currently doing:
- The water was good then - but even better now, as I am drinking 100 oz per day.
- My net carbs varied from 18-23 then; not too much difference now.
- My caloric intake for that particular week in Nov averaged about 1800.
- My caloric intake for the respective week in Dec averaged right at 2000 (my daily RDI is 2300 - and I am not supposed to go to below 500 calories below that). Anywhere between 1800-2100 is okay.
- My average percentiles for that week in Nov were: 5% Carb, 60% Fat, 35% Protein (same as now)
- The average percentiles for that week in Dec: 7% Carb, 48% Fat, 44% Protein - it's even better now as I am staying close to the Atkins recommended 5/65/30

So what I plan to do to jumpstart my WL for this week is get to the grocery store and stock up on the ingredients for my soup, as there must be something in the combination of those ingredients that expedites rapid fat-burning for me. We'll see what happens. I hope to see some good losses resulting from this experiment based on my hypothesis - which will hopefully boost my momentum once again.

The only other alternative is that ketosis has not set in due to the fact my my friend, Keto, is afraid to come around because the infamous "scale-gremlin" continues to be chained to my chimney in protection and consideration of my FS buddies. Having his freezing, screaming, putrid, isolated-form writhing and cursing on my chimney would keep anyone away!! Anybody want to volunteer to take him off my hands? Anyone?

Maybe I will share my soup recipe with the one who helps release me from this plight - and takes temporary custody of the scale gremlin. Ya'll know I just can't let him loose - who knows who'll he attack next?! Perhaps to those who refuse to help, maybe, just maybe I will be like the famous "Soup Nazi" of Seinfeld: "No soup for you!" LOL - j/k

Evie, I saw the same think as rockseer! Soup does seem to be the key to weight loss! They used the army to test it giving to groups the same food and amounts, one group they blended into soup the other ate the food as a solid form followed with two cups of water! The soup won hands down! I need a good soup recipe, please post it for me as soon as you can!
