I am struggling hard with my motivation right now. I've gained back almost two pounds of what I lost last week, DESPITE THE FACT THAT I'VE BEEN EATING HEALTHY 100% AND EXERCISING! I am pissed, to be honest. I mean, I guess it could be muscle mass, but almost 2 pounds of muscle mass in a few days? Does it really appear that quickly? My measurements are the same.

I am so. Frickin'. Discouraged.

I think this is why they say we should only weigh ourselves once a week (but who are they kidding, right?) our weight can fluctuate. Are you eating ENOUGH? sometimes when we start working out ppl dont eat a lot because they are "dieting". Keep in mind you need to actually eat a little MORE when you are working out so your body has fuel. Make sure youre geting your protein.

It's all right. Weight fluctuations are normal. Look at the big picture-your graphy displays it nicely. You are losing weight over the long term and exercising is a good unto itself-building muscle, toning, strength, flexibility, keeping you sane etc. You are doing great! If you haven't done so already, may I suggest keeping a record of your measurements? It took me months-yes months to lose and keep off a single pound when I first started over a year ago. It was very hard to keep going and I would vent here daily. Knowing I could run longer, do more sit-ups, lift heavier weights, lose .25 inch off my upper arm, whatever- really helped. It's okay to be angry-use it as energy to keep going!

I'm pretty sure I'm eating enough. At least 1400-1500 a day. And yes, I do keep track of my measurements but they don't really budge that much either. I will keep going, keep trying, keep working. I just hope it's not all pointless. Maybe by Friday a miracle will happen and I'll end up with a loss.

Don't forget how far you have come. You are working hard to stay healthy and it shows. If you gained some it could be just water, you don't gain 2 lbs of fat in a couple of days any more than you do muscle. Have you had a little too much salt maybe?

I've thought of that. I don't think I've really had any more than usual. I drink TONS of water on a daily basis, at LEAST the 64oz, but usually close to 100oz. so I wouldn't think that sodium would cause me to retain too much water. I don't know.

Sararay is right. Muscle and fat can't be put on that quickly. Under the best of conditions, a serious bodybuilder can put on one pound of muscle per week. And you would have to consume and extra 7,000 calories to gain 2 pounds of fat. So since we know you've been tracking your calories, and you aren't juiced up like Arnold, we can only assume it's a fluctuation. My advice: wait it out. I know that sucks, but it's not muscle and it's not fat so just wait to see what happens. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised that it goes away soon.

pretty sure its just be a fluctuation, so dont get discouraged. stay strong. All that exercise and healthy eating isnt pointless, it definitely WILL catch up with you and will pay off
