Not bad! I wasn't expecting my weight to go down .7 kg and stay there lol. So, considering... Not bad at all :), still in the right direction.

That soup was not exactly eaten yesterday, but also not exactly eaten today. It was eaten between days lol. I slept both before and after :)

I'm doing two things at once today to try to find what recently caused my RLS symptoms. I'm not cycling today, and I'm also laying off dried fruits for today. I'm still maintaining my ban on sweets. I've came too far to give up without trying other things first. One thing is worrying me though. I've read about how refined sugar based diets alter your dopamine circuitry in your brain and how lab rats, when suddenly deprived of sugar, experienced withdrawal like it happens with drugs. I also read that RLS is connected to dopamine in your brain. This common point really makes me think about it. If cutting exercise and some foods don't do the trick I'm afraid I will have to eat some sweets to see what happens. It's better to go back to how I was before with sweets than acquiring this condition permanently (hopefully I haven't already).

I'm hoping that, if this is connected to sugar withdrawal, that it will end at some point. If it happens with some drugs, it's probably the case with sugar too and they are definitely saying that it only happens during withdrawal (in the case of drugs). How long is withdrawal for sugar? lol

Given the fact that, it definitely appears to be connected to sugar withdrawal, I will not interrupt my consumption of dried fruits. I will just skip cycling for today since my legs are also tired and also because it is said that a lot of exercise can worsen RLS symptoms...


edit: I don't know why, but I'm naturally feeling the need to eat more than I have been eating in the past few days. Go figure... :)


edit: I think that I'm eating a lot due to my sleeping schedules being a little "out of whack"...

I heard (from other people's experiences) that its best to quit sugar (except fruits) cold turkey and that the first 1-3 weeks are the hardest. And that you can get horrible symptoms just like quitting drugs, smoking, or drinking coffee (I once tried to quit drinking coffee/tea and the headache was unbearable). I get restless legs (and other AD(H)D symptoms) often when I'm stressed, excited, anxious or bored - I don't think you should go to the doctor for RLS. Well you can go but I don't think he can help you aside from offering therapy maybe :P I just read you can get it from Iron or VitB12/B9 deficiencies, maybe you could get a blood test done and see if it's because of that

Now that I'm more awake, regarding the RLS symptoms, I'm practically feeling completely normal. Just a small tension in the back of the head. This thing gets worse when I'm tired :P

I'm hoping that's the case! And I'm confident it is heheh. Thanks for reassuring me! Wow, I didn't know you've also experienced that with other substances but it makes a lot of sense! It's bad that you've experienced that but it's good that I know about your experience because it certainly makes me feel better in the way that this should be expected after all. Yeah, I agree regarding the doctor. And I would probably just be given drugs or something when it's possibly not even needed :P. Yeah, I have read that about iron. But I eat nuts daily so, when I read that I wondered if excess iron could also cause it lol (this was before I was on to the sugar withdrawal as the culprit) :) I will check for the B vitamins. I didn't know about those. But I'm betting that I'm already having them some way because, some time ago, I went through all those vitamins and nutrients and made sure I was eating their food sources regularly :)

This was somewhat of a shock for me. I expected sugar to be addicting but never that addicting. I mean, coffee is known for having physical withdrawal symptoms like irritability etc (although I didn't know you'd also get RLS) but I had never heard about any physical symptoms with refined sugar withdrawal. It's amazing that I've never heard about this before...

I'm sorry Doublecheese but I seemed to misinterpret what you have written. You said you get restless legs often? Yikes! :P Regarding stress, I have been somewhat stressed these last few days but I'm inclined more to believe that the cause, in this specific case, is the sugar withdrawal. I feel for you (having this thing so often!) It's somewhat of a torture. Yesterday, after unsuccessfully trying to go to sleep due to this, I got up and did some calf raises, and it appeared to have soothed the RL pretty good though (but this is in my case) and you're probably already familiar with it...

Make no mistake, If I didn't know what this was or suspected this was not temporary, I would definitely go the doctor but since this appears to be somewhat under control I don't think there is a need.

My workout "plan" is more of a sequence of exercises than a plan lol. I would usually do them all in the same session and then be "dead" for more than 3 days before I got back for another one heheh. The only thing I tried to respect in that plan was not to exercise the same muscles in two exercises put together :) At some point, I was trying to to like 1 set low number of reps (like 4. When I would reach around 7 reps, I would up the weight next time) with very high intensity to failure. That's when I injured my wrist. Then I waited some time without weight training. Luckily my wrist went back to full shape and I started lifting again but now with more moderate weights, higher number of reps. But then, one day, even with lower weights, I started to have a nasty back pain and stopped since then. Now I'm planning on starting again very gradually so as to build my back muscles etc :) If you want to see my plan I can send it to you (it's in Excel).

My "plan" is the following Bunnyhall: 1 set for each of the following exercises and no more (and all to failure with a little insistence). I will do a short warm up before and then: pull ups; push ups; bench dips (these three served as a warm-up for the next exercises); seated bent over raises; barbell upright rows; Arnold press; arm curls; hang clean (I think: deadlift + lift to shoulder level); superman; squats; shrugs; weighed calf raises; knee raises (for abs, hanging from a bar); forearm squeezes (I don't know the correct name - my English isn't perfect lol)

Before I would would maintain the same weight until I got to 7 reps and up the weight. More recently I started to go up to 16 reps before I upped the weight.

There are one or two exercises in there that I can never do to failure. I only do those till they're bearable, because they're so hard for me lol: These include bench dips; hang clean; squats (this one makes my blood pressure fail first than my muscles) and perhaps I'm forgetting another.

I have gained some muscle mass with this plan but nothing that very noticeable heheh.

Alright when it comes to building muscle there is form and function, i prefer function. But ALOT of people prefer form, for form try reps no more than 10 and no less than 8. and do around 3-4 sets of them. for functions it depends on what you want, strength or endurance, strength reps around 1-5 and for endurance 15-20

Thanks for the tip Bunnyhall! I still can't see myself doing the 4 sets since I take the 1st one to failure. I don't know if I have the energy for a 2nd one, let alone 3 or 4 heheheh

But I will try. I will try also to divide weight training by groups. I just have to avoid some exercises because of my back

Yeah if you have a bad back avoid dead lifts and squats (sadly two great exercises) Look up compound movement workouts. They will get you strong and looking good. alot of people like going to failure, if you go to failure do a drop set, where you lower the weight each set

Oops, I missed that last entry of your Bunnyhall. I will probably avoid those. I'm also a little doubtful about doing arm curls but still don't know. I will try doing a drop set (never done it) :) Thanks!
