Happy New Year. I was inspired by seeing a family friend who had lost weight...and it took her a year. This is realistic and where I need to be mentally. I will TRY to not exceed 1400 calories a day, and really try to get a few days a week with 1200 calories. The good thing about the holidays is that I have no desire for wine and will also include eliminating alcohol from my weekly intake and only have a glass on the weekend.
Other than that, I am ready to be smaller. Hope this translates to dietary success.

Unless you're very sedentary, I would have 1400 cals/day as your minimum, not maximum. When I was at your weight, I found that if I went below 1400, my metabolism would slow down. Definitely, you shouldn't go below 1200 - that's basal metabolism. Realistically, your max RDI should probably be closer to 1800 or 1900 cals/day.
