Day two - I felt great at the end of the night last night, it was really lovely not to have that overly full feeling at bed time. I learned a couple of things about myself yesterday 1. I CANNOT have only cabbage and onions for lunch without a planned snack before dinner ;-p and 2. I enjoy the flavor of non-processed foods ALOT!! I was afraid weighing and measuring would throw me off - but actually it creates more of an idea in my head of exactly how much I was over-eating. It helps that my husband is very supportive and we are eliminating as a family the casserole type dishes. He and I figured that if we keep our meals to the 3 course type then the kids can still have their pasta etc. and I can just load up on the vegetables and have my serving size of protein. Sooo I got on the scale this morning and it moved a whole lot - BUT I know that it was mostly water-weight so I'm on the fence about whether to post it..yes, it's encouraging right this second but will it come back to bite me if it crawls back up??

I learned the hard way that you shouldn't weigh every day. It's REALLY tempting because you want to know that your diet is working. You're right when you say that it might crawl up the next day. I found that its best to do it once a week. Do it on the same day every week, on the same scale every week, and at the same time every week. I weigh in on mondays before breakfast. Also, I can't make the time between breakfast and lunch with out a snack. So I have a fruit and a whole grain oatmeal bar when I'm hungry. Just make sure you have something healthy to pick up and snack on when you're hungry.
