Press Release coming up on CNBC's Closing Bell at 4:30EST today, can't wait to see what the sale price was. I know we didn't go cheap, glad to know all our hard work has paid off for our parent company! The final chapter after 13 years is about to be written!
Came home and told the hubby about it...he is the ultimate optimist as his response was, "will get thru this, when one door closes another always opens"....love him and his spirit! We have struggled with health issues this past year and I am the sole income which does worry me, but like he said...we will get thru this!

@ceceps-don't really want to say where I work but it is a large insurance company in HARTFORD Ct. (wink-wink). Probably won't be retained by the buyer since they do not have an office here in HARTFORD. Dont't really know what the future has in store for me and won't know until end of January. I am going to remain optimistic and start putting out some feelers out when we get back from vacation. funny thing is that I had a call from a headhunter last week. I jotted down his name and number and I generally never do that. Guess I will call him.

Babs, have as wonderful a Christmas as you can, enjoy your vacation and definitely contact that head hunter (is it possible he heard rumors of which way the wind blew?). I know good things are in store for you! I used to drive through HARTFORD when I lived it D.C. on my way up to visit my family in northern MA.

Ohhh hon what crappy news. But change isn't always bad...I actually find it to be quite good most of the time, it just has a nasty habit of not appearing that way initially. Enjoy your vacay & explore your options after the holiday.

Hi - is it an insurance company that begins with an H? My mom gets her long-term disability through them another year or two before she gets her work pension. I hope you find a new job. I have been to Hartford numerous times, a grandmother's cousin lived there and we stopped by once thirty years ago when I was a kid (eighteen), and they weren't home and then my aunt, grandmother and I went to the beach at my insistence since it was summertime and in the mid 90s outside. I do hope you get a new job, the economy is really in rough shape, I know so many people unemployed or underemployed it's scary. I live in Northampton, MA some forty or so miles north where I was born...
