PinkRose88's Journal, 27 Nov 13

So upset with myself.......had a pig-out... not even Thanksgiving. I was so hungry this afternoon. My wonderful neighbor asked if I wanted to try her fudge. I said yes, of course a small piece. Well, she brought over half the pan I think. After she left I ate it ALL!!!! So ashamed of myself. I so HATE it when I do this. Plus ALL the nibbling I did during the prep of what I am taking to dinner tomorrow. Over-did today. Been up all day, now I don't feel well and sore. Wish I was thru this recovery period and I was back to being me......

I know exactly how you feel, but one bad day won't undo all your good days if you don't let it. We're human, we make mistakes - we just have to learn from them. If you know you like to nibble while cooking, put something you won't feel guilty about nibbling on in a bowl next to what you're cooking, when you're tempted, eat that instead. As for the fudge, it happens! It was one time, you felt awful physically and emotionally the rest of the day. You're learned your lesson, don't beat yourself up further, the guilt will actually make you more likely to slip up again. Think about it another way, even with your pig out you were still at only 1650 cals, which (if you're anything like me) is still way less than you used to eat every day without bother. Your worst day right now is still better than your old best days. That my friend is success. It's all in how you approach a mistake. You've come a long way, don't let one slip get you down. Feel better!

Thank you Lady and Suzi. Yes I am human.....I just work at this so hard....Not being able to exercise right now is really bothering me. Especially this time of year. Last year on Thanksgiving I was able to get in 2 sessions of stationary biking. Just want to maintain thru my recovering period.

Pink Rose, I'm sorry you had a setback, but as has been said, it's just one time out of out of your overwhelming victory of weight loss. In the "Big Picture" gal, you're doing fine! You need extra energy to heal, so maybe your binge wasn't so bad. Look at how close you are to your goal, & how far you've come. You know you can do this so it's no big deal, unless you allow it to become one. Keep up the great work, the Finish Line is just ahead!
