Rowanfair's Journal, 03 Dec 10

It is late and I should go to bed. I know my food journal is off. I have no idea how to figure the holiday dinner I just ate courtesy of work. It was at Chantilly in Redwood City.

I started with the foie gras (not pate, a goose liver in a rich sauce), a small caesar salad, prime rib (with horseradish) and berries and cream for dessert (though I didn't eat most of them as I didn't trust the cream to be unsweetened since it seemed to have vanilla in it). It was an amazing and fabulous gourmet treat and as close to being in my diet as possible. I don't think I will ever stop being a foodie even though the range of food I can eat has shifted. I was sorry not to be able to try the creme brulee or chocolate mousse as I'm sure they were wonderful (my table mates certainly polished theirs off). But the fact the host offered to bring me berries was appreciated as it wasn't something we had negotiated. (And he assured me no sugar, but well, I just wasn't sure.)
