Ruhu's Journal, 24 Oct 13

As my excitement for my retreat (I leave Sat morning) builds, my ability to sleep drops off, so a restless night & up early. But, that should give me the extra time I need to plan, prep & pack! In addition to learning more about mindful eating for binge eaters (the topic of the retreat), the retreat is being held at a resort just outside of Phoenix. The weather forecast sounds beautiful & the resort looks great with a spa, pool, hiking, biking & a fitness room, so I'm hoping for enough down time (I may have to build my own in, if they didn't plan for enough) to enjoy it all!

I have a paddle tennis match this morning & the afternoon to finish my bookkeeping work & get on with the 3 P's! The OSHA meeting went well, but I have some follow-up on that & some other quarterly taxes to get out before I leave. DH returned from his trip, but has a dinner meeting in the City tonight, so I'm on my own for one more night. I've been watching the past episodes of The Newsroom & am hooked! I've one left from last season which I should get to see tonight. Then we have dinner with DS & his new girlfriend tomo night & off I go!

But, before I get ahead of myself too far, I'll begin this one day in prayer --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

And on this one day and each one meal, moment, bite & emotion, I'll pray, breathe, log, journal & express my way. I'm grateful today for each of amazing you, my family & IRL friends, getting to meet DS's girl and having the health & wealth to live this life I love including my upcoming retreat! xoxox

SO happy for you - Phoenix this time of year is fabulous and this will be such a great retreat as there likely won't be that 'we're on vacation..' excuse to overindulge. You will be getting extra prayers that this will be the week that you build that ramp off the disordered eating highway and close it off from reentry.

Wow, Bella was quite poetic - she is an excellent writer! You have lots going on, no wonder your sleep tapers off, such excitement and good times. I am sure your retreat will be fantastic. Can't wait to hear about it all.
