zebdavison's Journal, 02 Oct 13

I've already lost 25 pounds just being sensible and recommitting myself to exercise every day. I recently have backslid, gaining 5 pounds, some of which is likely muscle, since I'm also lifting weights for the first extended period in my life. I wanted to check out this site to see if it would be easier to track my food intake using this, since I already use it as a reference.

Here goes something!

Way to go!

I love this site - the only drawback on entering food is there's no way to just add an item. For instance entering the entire nutrician for a home made sandwich. You have to break it all up and enter the ingredients separately. You can add it as a cookbook entry but unless its something you eat more than once its not worth it. But I really am doing better on my diet with this site. The challenges keep me interested.

I had lost 20 pounds before finding this site, and I have lost 10 more...fat secret is a great tool, and the people here are fun and supportive. Good luck to you...The main thing is keeping the weight off. I have yo-yo'd for YEARS and finally decided Enough of THAT! Sometimes i stay at the same weight for months, but eventually it goes down again...The body needs time to adjust...I have 13 pounds to go and I have committed to lose them by the end of the year. We shall see...

Wow! That was quick! Thanks for the kind comments! I have been trying to be very meticulous about the calories and protein I take in each day, and I've been using a spreadsheet to do that. I wanted to expand what I track to include fat and carbs - but changing the spreadsheet to do it was a big effort. I get most of my nutrition info from this site anyway - why not join and see if it might be the answer? I'm already getting a warm fuzzy that I made a good decision!
