I am on cloud 9 this morning! I have been wanting a 4 wheeler for forever. Well - I am getting one - TODAY!!! This day is going to go by sloooow. It belongs to some friends of ours. We are getting it cheap and it needs some work but it does run. It's a Honda 300 4x4 ATV. Oh I can't wait! We live right on Red River and I am going fishing!! My husband is picking it up at 12. I get home around 4:30. I told him I was going fishing when I got home and he said he needed to change the oil and put some new gas in it, etc. I said well you have about 3 hours to work on it then its all mine. lol!!! :D I am in redneck heaven today. I have to do a stupid frikin essay today that is due by 7pm on Oeidipus the King. Maybe I can get it finished before I get home. Weight is the same today. I WILL get through this weekend without cheating. I am taking the kids to a little haunted house tomorrow. It should be fun. he he he he he.... a 4 wheeler!

Amanda, I am excited for you. Just think of all the fun you are going to have running all over. Should help to burn some unneeded cals in the process. Hurry up and get that paper done and go play with your new toy.

Thanks, I can't wait! We always had one when I was growing up and I have been driving one since I was big enough to reach the gear shift. Yes you can definately see more of the country and get more placed on an ATV. We live on about 70 acres, there is about 80 accross the road and 60 in the sand pits. I don't own a thing, but it belongs to my grandma and my dad so we have plenty of room to explore. I just can't wait to get to the good fishing spots on the river. My husband will use it for deer hunting and I think I may hunt this year too. Neither one of us have ever got a deer before so we can make it a competition. I was raised in the country, went to the city for 10 years and now I am back home. I guess the saying is true "you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl" I love being back in good old Okie land.

My dad has cows, but no bull. lol! Thank goodness one of my cousins bulls jumped the fence last year so he has some calves. I think he has less than 20 cows now. They are really more of a hobby I guess. They have as many horses as they do cows, but they are neat to watch. Ours have names too. My dad & step mom keep them till they die of old age. Its not really profitable but they kindof become like pets and it would be cruel to send them to the sale barn to go for slaughter. We had one cow that was a dairy cow. We named her Jersey and she would let the kids ride on her back. It was so sad when she died. Its quiet here too. All you hear is coyotes, frogs, owls and the pecan guns. Pecans are a big business where I live and just across the river I can hear the pecan guns go off all the time. They are set up on timers and shoot to scare the crows away from the pecan trees.
