Today is my last day of summer break from school. I'm excited and terrified to begin my last year before graduating with my B.S. in Genetics. I can only imagine the doors that will open once I receive that fancy schmancy diploma. (Hey gotta stay optimistic in this lovely economy of ours!)

The summer was nice, and I enjoyed the break from being super strict with my dieting and exercise. I learned that I am able to maintain this great 170 number with little effort on my part, thanks to rewiring how my brain acts around food. I feel so pleased with myself that I was able to learn how to do this is such little time.

Next week I will begin my weight lifting class, and I'm looking forward to learning a skill I've never had before. I'm hoping to tone some of areas on my body that I'm not completely satisfied with. I also hope to get back on that cardio wagon to maintain a healthy endurance level. I'm happy to say that after over a month of not going to the gym regularly, I was able to jog on the treadmill for 10 minutes straight with energy to do more. This sounds non-impressive, but before I quit working out, I would only go in 4 minute intervals of jogging and walking. I was just happy to not have melted in to a puddle on my first day back.

My dear friend from high school has recently decided to join FS, I think after seeing pictures of me from my birthday party last week. I really hope this site can help her as well as it helped me. Its neat that she's actually beginning at my starting weight back in January. Girl, if picky, lazy me can do this, I KNOW YOU CAN!

I'll be posting one more before and after picture, once I get my dang scanner to work again!
