Ruhu's Journal, 18 May 13

"The road to success is always under construction.". I read that recently in a book I'm reading about overcoming disordered eating & it really hit home given my recently struggles. I must keep reminding myself that we are each on our own personal journey & it's construction can include renovations, additions & even tear-downs and re-dos when needed. As I reading, what's important is to learn from the twists & turns while remembering the goal.

I've just finished a 5-day cleanse & feel renewed, rejuvenated & ready to navigate on. For me, it's like a re-set button. I'm fortunate to have a local raw food restaurant that prepares fresh cleanses daily including juices, smoothies & a soup each day and chia seed pudding twice over the 5-day course. Their cleanses are estimated at 1200-1500 calories on non-chia days & 1600-2000 on chia days, so are not the extremely low calorie juice only type. They are raw & vegan as well as dairy, gluten & sugar free, so fit nicely in my healthy eating plan. Coming off today, I'll focus on eating mostly veggies and some fruits & slowly adding back animal proteins and lactose free dairy.

Of course, I'll also focus on serenity & will begin my day praying for it (I'm on my iPad so can't copy the prayer here as usual, but please still pray it with me.). And throughout this day & weekend, I'll pray, breathe, log, post & express for this one weekend, day, hour & minute as well as each meal, bite or emotion at a time. Xoxox
