Had a terrible aftershock this morning - not the biggest but was very
shallow so was the 2nd worst feeling one so far. Have had to go get
anti anxiety meds from the doctor as I was falling apart emotionally.
Even my husband is finding it hard to cope now, and he is normally such a rock. We are hearing emergency services race here and there with sirens wailing, some people lost power this morning and some people said they smelt sulphur.

I seriously want to leave our city till it is all over but Johnny wont
so we are staying. I appreciate all your prayers and am thankful. We
will be needing a lot of prayer for a long time to come.

They are demolishing a lot of our city's beautiful historic buildings
due to safety risk. Our city will never look the same, and we will
never be the same emotionally either. This is the most traumatic and
terrifying thing we have ever been through.

I'm so sorry Squiggly. Wishing you well and that you stay safe. Are your parents okay? Would you be better staying with them or they with you? What an ordeal for you. I can't imagine what you are going through.

Some of the TV networks here were showing the demolition work going on, in Christchurch, I think, taking down the unsafe buildings. At the time of filming, the weather where they were working was beautiful, blue skies and sunny. If only it could be that way AND have the Earth stop shaking. I'm glad you've been able to get some meds to help you thru this.
