I need prayers. I am starting some mild lower body excercises after many years of being sick and confined to my recliner with legs elevated. Scary...

Sending prayers your way skinny! What kind of exercise can you do or are you going to try to do? Are you able to go outside and walk? Or walk around the house? Keep us posted on your progress.

I wear oxygen 24/7. I get winded really easily walking 5 feet. I will probably sit in a chair in front of YouTube or holding a chair and do squats or leg raises. I don't know yet what I will do. I am searching YouTube. Thank you for your support.

Slow and steady ...... remember tortoise wins races ...... Ever think about bed exercise like the leg lifts .... leg over other leg ..... raising light weights with arms ... just a thought ........

Thanks Jessie for your suggestions. I have no cartilage left in the joints of my arms and shoulders. My rotators are also ripped from many falls. Once I am strong enough then I will have surgery on the arm joints. Until then can't move the arms without a lot of pain. I have a difficult time getting up and down off the bed. I use my recliner because it is a lift chair. I will probably experiment with whatever options I see on YouTube. Thank you Fritzy for your prayers.

Skinny, check out Bob & Brad’s YouTube channel for ideas. Also, doesn’t your doc give you a list of resources for exercises? Might be worth a call tomorrow. You have a lot of challenges, but we all know you’re a fighter. If you’re close to a senior center, maybe you can get some water exercises once you’re ready. Our local Y has a lift and instructors. Nothing without your doc’s blessing. Just ideas. Much love and you’re the person I’m breaking my screen time ban for this morning.

Katsolo, thank you for the suggestions on YouTube. I will definitely check them out. wifey, & Keten, thank you for your prayers. I really appreciate all suggestions and prayers. I can definitely feel them. The other night I just so wanted to give up. I just pulled up my granny pants and said let's go for it again. The Lord said he'll get you through the hard times. I'm trusting he's a loving God and he's faithful and he doesn't lie. Thanks again girls.

@Skinnyminilinny, I sleep in my recliner due to back issues, at my neurologist's suggestion, and we have a recliner sofa in the living room, too. I keep my legs elevated to encourage good circulation and avoid edema in my feet and legs. I can't do weight-bearing exercise because of surgical deformities in my right foot. So, I know a little of what you're dealing with. I can imagine the difficulties you encounter, and still you won't give up. God bless you!
