Ruhu's Journal, 30 Apr 13

My boy's in trouble today -- I've been up since 3:30 & while I know he'd prefer to sleep in ( noon or later!), I'm certainly gonna fade early so will have to wake him. 10ish seems like a good compromise. I've had my workout (found a great place here with boot camp, circuit training & spin classes - did their 5:15 circuit class already); just finished my mindfully eaten breakfast & logged in my mindful eating log. And, the packing up is going well & we're on track to head to Cincinnati tomorrow. I'm hopeful & expecting the visit there with my Mom to go well too. As many of you know, she's in the early stages of Alzheimer's which proves trying & tiring for me when I visit her alone. But having my sons & DH with me this time will make it much easier. (DH & older son fly in on Fri.). My younger son in particular has a way of dealing with her that is really uplifting as he always seems to add some comic relief at just the right time as things are getting tough.

So, as always, I'll start my day praying for serenity (& hoping to find time for a nap) and will pray, breathe, log, post & express through this one day, meal, moment, bite & emotion at a time. Xoxox

You are there to help him and he gets to sleep in 'til 10 AM? Get that boy out of bed ASAP - you are not his doormat.

Have a wonderful day Ruhu and a safe trip to Cincinnati tomorrow. I didn't realize your mom has Alzheimer's disease. This must be a huge challenge for you and your family. If your interested they usually have support groups and or education for family members to help deal and understand the disease process. I am guessing you have probably done a lot of research on your own. Take care.

Morning. Not sure why your boy is in trouble? I am sure you have him up and moving by now. Enjoy your visit with your mum, and it will be much easier with your sons there so you don't have to be the sole focus of her attention. Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip.

I can remember the days when I use to sleep in. Actually at my age remembering those days is huge in itself. I have not slept in for about 3o years. Feels like I am wasting the day if I do. However, I clearly remember my son being the same way. It really did get to me at times. Travel safely -J
