Rumptacular's Journal, 30 Aug 10

I have been so busy this week working everyday, preparing for school starting, bouncing between cars (since mine is broken) and my uncle had been in the hospital (he had lung brain and bone cancer, and pneumonia) and he passed away yesterday morning.

Truthfully I havent been eating stellar- but probably around 1800. I didnt go grocery shopping last time with my mom so there is virtually no healthy food here (thanks ma >_<) and I have been busy every night and day but I have gotten some walks and other activities in but nothing as intense as I would like. But today I am going to try real hard and eat my calorie goal and I will be swimming today (its 90!) and hanging out. My boyfriend wants to drink a little but I don't really feel like it. I also haven't felt like weighing myself lately because it isn't creating healthy thoughts for me. I think every month I will weigh myself or something IDK I just need to get a better hold on things. I also need to get my car fixed.

also I am getting irritated that a lot of the foods (even packaged, popular) I eat are not listed on fatsecret and I just don't have the time to add it up and I think I might switch to sparkpeople because they have more foods on there and ones listed by other members

Sorry to hear about your uncle's passing =( Sounds like it's been a rough week but hang in there! I hear you on the weighing yourself ... it's driving me crazy that the scale isn't going down ... but then again I haven't been eating all that great (not great at all actually) so it's my fault. Also, I hope you stick around here! ... Atleast to journal :)

I'm very sorry about the difficult time you're having, especially with your uncle. Regarding the food, I was pleased to find how easy it is to add new foods into the FS database. I've done it several times now, and even added the correct barcode using my geeky phone. :-) The best part is (particularly if it's food you eat regularly) that you put it in once and it's there in the database for you and everyone else to use. Life is inherently full of fluctuations. That's not a BAD thing, because it keeps us challenged, but it's important to remember that for the most part, we are individually responsible for our own stability. Any good positive habits we can create and practice are the foundation of whatever consistency we have in our lives. I hope you stick around!
