Holy crap. 4 miles walked in just over an hour. Outside. In 80 degree heat.

I can't believe I've gotten that fast and strong. I was marveling over 3.5 mph rate yesterday and I guess I didn't eat enough before I walked or something because today. Wow.

In the last three days I've walked over 7 miles and biked 2.3. That's in just ONE weekend.

I found yet another great walking/biking place near me - so that makes about six in easy reach of my house now. I definitely do want to bike there when I know I can handle that many miles - I'm still really sore from my horrible bike seat so even with the new one I got I figured I might want to let things heal a little.

The funny thing is that even when I was at lower weights before I wasn't this fit. I couldn't do a 4 mile brisk walk a few years back, even if I WAS like thirty pounds lighter. I would've been dying after it and I'm a little tired now but totally fine.

It hasn't even been a full month yet and the changes I'm seeing are amazing. I remember it seemed like a far walk once upon a time to take out my garbage, now look.

I'm going to see if I can do a 5K walk in the fall. I'm not up for the run yet but I can definitely walk a 5K

What a great accomplishment!!! I can relate about thinking back to times I weighed less & was in worse shape than I am now. You can absolutely do a 5K walk, keep up the good work chick!!

Thanks, Kat. I want to do the race for the cure - well, the walking part since I think I might die if I tried to run. Okay, let me rephrase, I do attempt to jog but usually can only go maybe a few feet so there's no way in hell I'm going to do any kind of race until I get in better shape and drop a few more pounds. Maybe in the spring it might be possible.

Good call. I thought I would be fine jogging but my body decided otherwise, lol.

I need to get some better sneakers. Mine suck and my feet are really sore. I had to actually soak my feet earlier. I saw on Nike's website they have some running shoes that are designed for trails (more traction) so I think I'm going to invest in them when I get paid again.

I got a pair of skechers shape-ups for my waling shoes. It was recommended by a friend of mine who is a physical therapist. They have a rolling cushion sole that prevents shock and makes you use more of your leg muscles. They are especially good for toning the behind.
