So today's new discovery is an AWESOME park near me. It's not super close to where I live (but isn't a bad drive) and I've heard a lot about it and wow - massive county park with a lake, marina, various fields and trails.

Glorious glorious trails. Trails that go around the lake. Looking at a pretty lake is one of those things that keeps me going when I'm tired during a workout (or feeling lazy). It was a beautiful day here and I guess that's where a bunch of the fitness enthusiasts go in the area because every other car had a bike (or more) on the back of it in the way in. They also rent bikes there - just need to get a bit stronger/quicker and I'm so riding there.

In the meantime today I walked and I was surprised at how much faster I am. I didn't think I was walking that fast (and I did try to jog for a few feet - which is about all I can do) but according to my program on my phone I go about 3.5 miles an hour on average. Considering the last time I went walking (and timed it) I was lucky to get to 3 mph that's amazing. I was melting by the time I got to the car, maybe it's the sunshine and warm weather on top of things.

I also made it back to the farmer's market this morning. I got so many goodies it's unreal. Yes, I consider fresh brightly colored produce goodies these days, lol. I woke up relatively early and was there at 10 am which is apparently the busiest time of day for them. I now have a very full produce drawer in my fridge. Once upon a time it was an empty hole that held a handful of things I forgot about - now it's full to the brim with stuff I go through frequently. I used last week's tomatoes to make sauce last night and I bought more (and a bunch of peppers) to make fresh salsa.

I've gotten such a HUGE spike in energy recently. I used to sleep in on Saturday until at least noon and then struggle to do anything because I was so tired from working during the week. This week I not only worked, but also went to school and worked out and I still woke up naturally. Over and hour and a half before my Saturday alarm clock was set for. I was up at 9. I can't remember the last time I woke up at 9 on Saturday morning and didn't feel like a zombie.

I even managed to make it to Target to buy a new bike seat (seriously, my cheapo bike has a seat that was not designed for any person to sit on ever - I am so ridiculously sore today from it.) Parked WAY the hell away from the store and had a good time wandering around both there and TJ Maxx (in the same complex). I can't tell you how many times in the past I drove from one to the other.

It's now a little after six and I'm honestly not tired. I'm going to shower and head north to a friend's in a bit but damn, the energy boost is amazing.
