amanda123's Journal, 06 Aug 10

OK so we have all heard people say "When I get stressed out I can't eat" Well I am generally not like that. The former me used to get stressed out and eat a ton of food to try and comfort myself I suppose. Well now I think I can understand the people who can't eat when they are stressed out. I need to start recording in my food journal again. I am not eating enough and I am sure my weight loss will suffer for it. The girls start school next Wednesday! It's sneaking up on me. My summer classes will be over Wed so I will get a 3 week break before fall! Yay! Oh my perspective job called wanting references from me.... don't know why they will need them but I will send them anyways. You would think they could say - hey look, she worked for us for 2 years and was a great employee before we had a mass lay off. All of her former supervisors & co-workers are singing her praises, lets just waive the credit check..... keep dreaming right? Happy Friday everyone!!! Have a great weekend. I for one am going to get some much needed ZZZZZ's!

Amanda, I am sure it's probably a technicality for them. There may be other employees trying to come back as well and they have to treat everyone fairly and equally. And yes, I am a stress non-eater and a happy eater. I have learned to associate food with events and emotions. It's funny because when DH and I had our bad times I'd easily lose 10-15 pounds to only gain it back when things were good. And yes, record your food. Never stop doing that because if things don't go the way you want, you wont know what went wrong.

Amanda, I am just an eater! lol I tend to eat when I am unhappy, worried, stressed, happy, having fun, watching tv, you name it, I have a reason to eat!!! I have been learning to deal with this aspect of my personality. I now eat when I am hungry most times, but there are still times when I will think, hmmmm, I want something. Am I hungry? Nope, just want to put something into my mouth. I have been trying to alleviate that with water and meat sticks. Glad that your summer session of school is nearly done, that the kids are getting ready to head back to school, but mainly that you can get some much needed rest. The job will work out. Keep smiling, darlin' it'll be okay!!

Oh, and Keli is right, don't stop journaling your food, it keeps you on track and makes it easier to spot the problems that you may experience!

I can sooo relate with you,Steph!! LOL !! It really is important to record your food. I never thought so until I started using this site. It was a real eye-opener and it helps me stop and think before I eat something. The accountability really helps. Hopefully when the kids are back in school and you're out,you will be able to un-wind and relax a little.

I will keep recording my food - try to anyways. I dont' usually record it on the weekends. I will go ahead and record yesterday's food - what little I ate. This morning I am starving probably from not eating last night. We pulled my credit. My score is a 544. I know that's terrible so I don't see how I could possibly get the job but maybe that's for the best.

Amanda, while 544 isnt good it's not horribly bad. I am sending you a PM with some ideas that might help you.

Amanda Hang in there - if this is the right job for you I'm sure it will work out and if they weren't serious about you they wouldn't have bothered to ask for references - it's extra work for them so maybe your credit doesn't matter too much to them especially since they know you as a great employee.
