One of my friends here on Fatsecret suggested a water cleansing. I can't do it tomorrow, because my mom will be home and questioning why I'm not eating, and then the same all weekend. So on Monday that's what I'm doing. And then next Friday she'll be at work, so every Friday and Monday will be my cleansing days. No food, just water. We'll see how it goes.

So here's going to be my schedule for next week:

SUNDAY - eat little food, but nothing major because my mom will be home, and she doesn't know about my diet and CANNOT find out.

MONDAY - Water cleansing, and I have gymnastics

TUESDAY-Thursday - I have gymnastics, and I'm going to run.

FRIDAY - Water cleansing.

SATURDAY - Same as Sunday.

No, but I figure that it might be as simple as just drinking water and only water all day--or at least that's what I'm going to do. ;D

alright, sounds like a plan! since you won't be doing it tomorrow, i'll start this evening and let you know how it went by tomorrow evening - you know, just to see how it went?

i mean, it might be different for each of us b/c of different amounts of exercise and stuff, but idk.

yea, sure! i've done research on different kinds of fasts, and water fasts are usually the most effective and quickest, but they're hard to stick to for ppl who've never done them before. there were also these other fasts with like, organic home-squeezed juices and what not ... stuff i don't have access to .. so i think the water one should be best. if tomorrow goes well, i'll try to keep it going until sunday. and also - starting to eat again after a fast can be painful, i've heard. like, stomach acid and stuff. plus, you can't just eat a whole bunch of food at once. idk. i've never successfully(sp?) followed thru with a fast, so i wouldn't know. but from what i've read, re-feeding is tough and you have to be careful. i'll see if i can find more about it later. :)

Yeah, it's like after you become anorexic you can't eat too much at once or you will have a heart attack. Like, first day of recovery is one mini meal, 2nd one real meal, 3 two meals, and so on. But I wonder if it's only painful for people who go for like weeks at a time. I'm only talking 1-3 days. More likely to be 2.

daaang. i bet it does. i'm pretty sure your stomach shrinks, so eating a ton of food would probably hurt. yea, i'll try a couple of days before going into a full week.

Sorry to barge in - but have you considered that your body is still growing and that you may wake up one day, 20 years from now, and be sorry that you did not give it the right nutrients? I bet you you could "sell" a juice fasting bout to your mom. Just call it juice cleansing - she will be soooo happy you are getting your daily intake.. $0.02

i consider myself a pretty hard dieter at times, but the whole water cleansing thing scares me!! :(

lol why? it could be used as a way to detox, too - my friend's mom does it like once a month.

it sounds a little harsh to me too. i've heard the french do a leek soup diet occasionally. the leeks at least have some vitamins and cleansing properties. i think an orange juice fast (even organic) would be very acidic.

ps: i did the leek fast last weekend and it was not too bad. i had a smoothie in the morning though to make sure i got enough protein to maintain the muscle i have (i'm paranoid about losing muscle) :)
