Busy lil bee here. buzz buzzzzzz. I got up early this morning and went to the farmer's market. I got a HUGE batch of green beans and about 8 big heirloom tomatoes. They were more expensive than walmart or IGA, but darnnnn, the quality is soooooooo much better. I've been cramming for my intro to chem proficiency test off and on all day. I have green beans with salt pork simmering, even as I write this. And, I even found time to have coffee with my mom and dad this morning. I'll have 75% of the objectives for the exam written out by this evening, the rest tomorrow, then I go over and over and over and over it until Wednesday morning, when I take the test.

i LOOOOVE home grown veggies...especially 'maters! They have never been an issue for me...but this summer...when I had my first one... it really cramped my tummy.. at least I think it was the tomatoes.. Let me know if you have an issue. Just curious.

I heard we have an excellent farmer's market here in Nashville. I still need to go check it out. I stopped buying vegetables from Wal-mart since they are half-rotted when I buy them. The quality of produce there is horrible. Sounds like this isn't just at our store. Good luck on your exam Wednesday!!! With all of the studying you have planned, you'll do great!

Thanks for the encouragement, ladies! Dude, the maters didn't cramp me up at all. I love them. I used to go out to my gramma's garden, pull one off the plant and just eat it, sun-warm, right there in the garden. Holly, it's not just the walmart here. Any grocery store I go to has green beans that look rusted and tomatoes that just don't look that great. With farmer's market, you know all that produce was on the vine or the plant just a few days ago, at the most, and was picked ripe, not green. Back to the books for me! Oh, btw, Ann, those green beans were so good, I barely have enough left for my lunch today...and all my boys turned up their noses when I said salt pork. They sure changed their tune when they smelled and tasted those beans!
