In the theme with shopping, I decided to go shopping in my closet. By shopping in my closet I mean that I have so many different things in there of various sizes (many of which I haven't worn in years) that a lot of the clothes seem new. If you think I'm exaggerating I have sizes ranging from 14 - 24.

In the light of fitting perfectly into size 20 pants at Old Navy today, I figured I'd try on my size 18s. Now, I should point out that I have a nice amount of stuff in that size but haven't worn any of it in over a year. The last time I tried any of it on I could NOT button my slacks. It's really a sad thing when dress pants with give in them can't be buttoned. I know enough of what I currently weigh and what fit today that I can't wear any of my 18s in public.

But I figured, what the hell and tried a few of the larger items on. I buttoned them. I even zippered them. I can't breathe in any of them but I was really really shocked that I could button and zipper them. I figured maybe, just maybe I'd get the buttons closed at this point. Getting the zipper zipped was a huge treat.

Of course they still don't actually FIT, and I would want to not worry about splitting my pants before I would actually wear them anyway but wow. I just wasn't expecting that since I've only lost 9 lbs and I figured they wouldn't actually close until I got below 250.

I have to wonder what my true "high weight" was. I remember back in the winter I went to Old Navy and couldn't find ANY pants that fit. I couldn't get the 20s zipped there and now they're perfect. I was so scale averse for the last three years, I knew I was gaining weight but I didn't want to know the awful truth.

I've had a busy day, I'm exhausted, I think it's time for sleep.
