biblioholic03's Journal, 21 May 08

Woo hoo - the past two days the scale has been back down to about 117.4, almost where I was before. I'm like Lotus and am more motivated when I see the weight down. But you'd think everyone would be the opposite and motivated if the weight is on...I don't know, how odd. I guess it's because we know it's working if we see the numbers going down.

I slept almost all day yesterday, I don't know what knocked me out so much, but you know that feeling when you can't help but go to sleep because you're just exhausted? That was me yesterday. I'd gone to be about 12:30 or 1 and didn't wake up until 10. Got up and ate and got dressed and was reading when I fell asleep; basically I took a series of naps that lasted until 2! Needless to say I wasn't tired so I didn't go to bed until 4 this morning, but I'm up and feeling ok, about to go workout for the day since I didn't do that yesterday either!

I DID happen to try on some of my smaller pants that I brought with me in hopes I could wear them again...and guess what fit?!?!?! FINALLY some results. They're still a little snug and I can't wear that shirt with them b/c it shows my tummy, but they are on and button and I'm so excited!

I've been trying this zig zag thing and it's going well I think, my high calorie days aren't near as high as they "should" be according to the calculator, but I think it's just because I don't have a lot of high cal food in the house. I ate a lot yesterday and was still only at 1210. Today my calorie goal is 1298 and I'm also trying to up my water intake to get about 100 oz. in a day. Normally I'm ok, especially at work with getting close to that, but sometimes when I'm on my own at home I forget.

I love reading and while in school couldn't do much pleasure reading, so I feel so behind and like I'm playing "catch up". But I'm looking for new things to read if anyone has recommendations let me know!

Water: 28 oz so far
Exercise: Cardio Party Remix (30 min) & Booty Sculpt and Abs (30 min)

You are looking good, girl! Wootwoot! You can tell that you've lost inches since your last picture posting. Way to go! As for the sleepfest, sometimes you just need to sleep. You were lucky that you had the time to do it! I know it must be hard to eat the higher calories when you are "full". Maybe keep a couple of your favorite chocolate bars or some such goodie around for those days so you can get the calories in. I do believe the zig zagging works best if you stick to the range of calories they suggest. If you like romantic stories with more to them than swooning, I love The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Very interesting reads! It's about a doctor who lives in England and she goes to a stone circle (like Stonehendge - apparently there are lots of them around England?) and she gets transported back in time something like a couple of hundred years. She meets up with a Scottish soldier and it takes off from there. It sounds a bit far-fetched but it is written in such a way as to make it believable and it is all historically correct, etc. Anyway, try out the first book and see if you aren't hooked!

I've read all the Diana Gabaldon books, well not the two Lord John ones, haven't gotten to those yet. They're great, aren't they?! I think I've lost some inches too, my stomach looks flatter - I'll take some more "after" pictures later in the week. Thanks for all your suggestions, Evelyn!

I haven't read the Lord John ones, either. Not planning to, either! If you like fantasy reads, Terry Brooks is best known for his Shanara series but he also wrote one that starts with "Kingdom For Sale, Sold". It is a great series. And my all time favorite fantasy series is "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, The Unbeliever". I forget who wrote them, but there are 6 books (3 in the first series and then a second series of 3). They even got my brother to read which is a rare feat! I'm looking forward to more "after" pics!

You look fabulous! I don't see this "tummy" you speak of but whatever you're most comfy in right? If you like fun books, Carl Hiaasen is my favorite author. He's a Florida writer and also has a column in the Miami Herald if you want an idea of his writing style. Great summer reads.

You have to read The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield! THE best book in the world! I also stopped pleasure reading while I was in school, but since I graduated (2 yrs ago) I can't stop! I love love love reading! I'm reading The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett now. Really good book also!

How are those videos? Do you find that they're working for you? I hate to say that I'm not much of a reader...no matter how good the book is, I get sleepy. I guess I'm too hyper to sit in one spot and just read...my mind begins to wander. My hubby can read and read and read!! I guess I should take some pointers!

wow, you look awesome! :) is it possible you were tired because of your high calorie days not being high enough? if I don't eat much I feel like I can't help but fall asleep after a while. it does sound like you are eating enough anyway though... just depends on your body's metabolism.
