Ok, I can't do this. Nothing is working. Every time I think I lost it just ends up being a weight fluctuation. I don't have time or energy to work out for hours every day and I don't have the willpower to keep being disappointed like this.

I probably have not been eating enough the past week and I'm sure my metabolism has slowed down but I don't know how to eat more without going back to my old habits of cookies and cake and coca cola everyday.

This blows.

6 weeks of steady weight lifting and cardio at least 3x a week for an hour and no changes. I am not losing inches and I don't feel like I am even getting tighter. I'm still a 10 and I'm still wearing my 12's even because they are not that big on me. I wish they would just fall off like my other pants.

I wish I could afford a nutritionist but I just can't. I read fitness articles and magazines everyday and I still don't know what the hell to do. I really hate the world right now.

I just want to f*ing cry.

Try not to get too down. For starters, eat a more formidable breakfast than sugar free jello... That's more of a snack. You can definitely eat more without eating cookies and cake, those aren't your only options. You don't even have to eat a huge breakfast, a simple bowl of cereal will do (try to aim for something thats low sugar and provides protein), consuming an insufficient amount of calories in the morning will definitely slow your metabolism. When you work out on little to no fuel in your body, your body may or may not burn the fat you carry. Most likely, your body is in starvation mode, meaning that it's trying to burn the least amount of calories possible... which is what you don't want. It's more than ok to eat!! You have to!! You're probably too tired to do anything because of the lack of food your eating! I'd try and give you caloric advice but I don't know all of your stats. Just take a few deep breaths, analyze your eating habits sensibly, and do your best. I have faith in you!

i agree with atruestargoddess. you have to eat, i know you were going to try it before right!? up your calories! you need more healthy foods, veggies, whole wheat, snack inbetween. drink tons of water. maybe you should see a doctor too, make sure everything is ok.

Hey, I tried upping calories and was getting 1200-1400 a day and it did nothing! So I tried cutting carbs down and that ended up cutting calories too. I'm gonna go back now, but figured I'd try anything. So far, nothing has worked. There's definitely nothing wrong, I was had a scare about some heart issues and had dozens of blood tests done. There appears to be nothing wrong with me other than being stubborn as hell.

You wrote: "I probably have not been eating enough the past week and I'm sure my metabolism has slowed down but I don't know how to eat more without going back to my old habits of cookies and cake and coca cola everyday." I agree with the others... not eating is a problem! Also not knowing how to eat more than 670 cals without junk food is a problem! There are defintitely ways to stay at a reasonable calorie level without eating junk food, and I am sure you have experienced this before if only a few times. I hope you can figure out a solid, healthy diet for yourself. maybe just relax and try to let your intuition guide you to some healthy foods. maybe meditate on what your body is needing. how long did you try eating 1200-1400 cals? maybe try it for a longer period of time? I used a formula another member gave me that worked for me to figure out how many cals you should eat. I got that your basal metabolic rate is 1389 (to breathe and stay alive only). exercising 3x a week, you should need 2153 cals to maintain weight. 1653 to lose one lb a week and 1153 to lose two pounds a week. of course I'm sure your body has its own cal needs... no formula can give you exact numbers, but just thought I'd tell ya. anyway, don't cry, sweetie, and try not to hate the world... I KNOW you will figure this out. It actually took me years before I was able to figure out how to lose weight... years of fluctuations and thinking I was about to lose and never losing... only gaining... I was exercising a lot and 100% positive I was doing everything right... I grew extremely bitter... but there were things I was overlooking, that I didn't figure out until a couple months after I came here. also don't forget the psychological factors, when I get discouraged I have to affirm "I am losing weight... I am losing weight..." or some other such thing. I actually have cds that play these affirmations for me. They really helped a lot to trick my subconscious into getting a positive attitude and leading me down the right path. hey... actually, I don't need them anymore. if you're interested and give me your address I will send them to you. Sorry to ramble, I hope some shred of this helps you!

Well the past 3 days are the only time I have ever eaten only 700 calories, so when I was referring to needing to eat more, I am referencing when I am eating 1000-1200 calores, it appears to still not be enough! But most of everything is helpful. It seems like everyone is only looking at this past week to determine what I am doing wrong and I am saying "This week I gave up! Let's pretend it never happened" but for the past month I have gotten my 1000-1200 and not lossed. Oy. I apreciate all your help, you girls are so awesome, I just feel like no one is looking at my whole efforts since I've been on here and see the 700 cal days this week and freak out that it's so little. I know! I got more than 1500 today so we'll see if it backfires or not. Hopefully not cause I have to fit into a bridesmaids' dress Sunday.

And just a quick side note, I don't always remember exactly what I ate, my bad I guess.

How frustrating. I don't have anything to add that the others didn't already suggest. Maybe have you tried the zig zagging like Lotus and some other members are using? It "fools" your body so it doesn't get used to eating a certain amount and so it keeps your metabolism going.

I did look at your diet calendar actually, although I did not click "view full diet calendar." I don't use mine anymore so I didn't think of that. I just haven't been your buddy during your whole efforts, so of course its hard to catch up on everything. :) I hope you enjoy your wedding sunday... and that you figure this out soon... you know what's best for you better than any of us of course, we're just trying to throw in little tidbits when we can in case they help :)
