I started WW last Wednesday. This is harder than I thought it would be. First of, my daily target points is 19...19!! What am I supposed to eat??? I din't do very well over the weekend. Saturday night my husband and I went for Thai food...then Chinese food on Sunday. Weekends are going to be the hardest for me. I am okay when I am at work where I have a handle on what to eat, but when I get home...it's not so pretty. I just hope I can do it.

I find that once you get past the first 2 weeks of starting anything new...it gets easier. HANG IN THERE! You took the first step in joining...now you need to just make some smarter, lower point choices. I absolutely LOVE Thai Food...to a fault...I'd eat it 24x7 if I could =) But...my girlfriends took me out not too long ago for my birthday...and instead of choosing the Crazy Noodles (or Pad Thai), Scallion Pancakes or fried spring rolls...I pulled up the menu before hand...and found that the better options for me were the fresh spring roll...and the teriyaki stirfry. You just need to start looking at things a little differently and not looking at it as limiting, but more what choices you can make that will allow you to be able to still enjoy the foods you love. I'm in the 24 point range...I'd suggest you look at other members profiles, and find some that have your weight range, so you can look at their diet calendars to see what they are eating...it may give you some suggestions =) Good luck!

Hi Maria! I have been on WW since just after Thanksgiving. Although I started with a higher points allowance than you (24 I think), I felt the same way-- what to eat??? Probably one of the best things you can do is make some time to sit down and figure out at least a couple of daily menus for yourself. Eat lots of veggies, especially fresh, as they are little or NO points. Make sure you are following the "healthy eating guidelines" and drink lots of water. Probably the most important thing (and where I am lacking right now) is make sure you are active!!! I have lost 28 pounds so far, but have plateaued for the last month or so, and I really think it's because I have not been committed to getting activity in. The plus side of activity is that you can use activity points to add points back into your daily allowance if you want to. Good luck with your journey and hope you find this site supportive!

I also have only 19 points to spend. It is extremely difficult and limits most everything you can eat. I found the watching portion sizes helps out. For instance, eat only half of the recommended serving size. This gives me a little room to add variety in my diet vs. one pointing me to death. Take what you don't eat and save it for another day. Also, if you exercise (I do at least 5 times a week) make sure you put a few of those activity points back in your diet. With a point value so low, it is very easy to not eat enough and gain weight by starving your muscles. I love those protein drinks (low fat and low sugar ones). They cost 2 to 3 points but help with muscle tone while giving you that full feeling. Good luck.
