Yesterday was 1700 calories, I had a hard time eating 200 calories more after 8 months at 1500. I was satisfied at 1500 but realize my calories are to low. I know you have to eat more to lose but after years of dieting the word LESS is engraved in the diet part of my brain. Trying to get the calories without the carbs is a challenge but I like challenges....speaking of that..ARE YOU READY GREEN! time to kick some yellow butt. :)

You are wanting to lose weight but you are forcing yourself to eat more? Does that really make sense?

Present! I'm with you - ready to kick some butt! Lenny, eating more can often be difficult in the beginning but it will get much easier. Right now I am having the opposite problem. After eating 1700-1800 for the last month or so I am fighting to keep them there most days. I have even been waking up hungry. Our bodies are so strange aren't they?

Here and ready to kick butt with ya! The last post you left me was about trying to get my calories up and and I have tried the last 2 days but I'm still struggling, but I won't give up!

Try adding butter or Mayo to stuff or heavy whipping cream or pork rinds... I went through the same problem it can be done and you can do it! 4theking yes if you don't eat enough your body can go into starvation mode and hold on to everything you eat it happened to me at 297 lbs and I had to force an extra 1000 calories a day to lose.

So a question here...are we supposed to recalculate our RDIs when we have lost 10 lbs? like me for instance, now it says I only need 1400 calories...I did 1300 today and was starving...just had an invention of cream cheese, truvia and leftover coffee and am now ready for bed...but really, on Atkins...do we lower our caloric needs as we lose weight? It makes sense on all other diets but...

If in the evening I see that I'm low on fat or calories,I have pork rinds dipped in a tbsp of mayo. I thought it sounded terrible,but,now I'm often working it into my plan for a snack.
