OK so I have another quick question. Last night I used a ketone stick and according to that I'm in ketosis. This morning when I got up for some reason I thought I'd check it again (before I ate) and was not in ketosis. Should I be worried about this or does it happen sometimes?? How often should you be checking?

That's weird. If you're eating correctly, you should be fine. Maybe it was a bum stick? Try in the early evening. Probably no more than once a day is best, and always at roughly the same time of day. I'm sure you're fine, but I bet it is really disconcerting to see beige when you're used to pink and purple.

Elizabeth, are you eating enough food? You must be fairly short to have an RDI so low.

Okay - this may not be a popular response but throw those darned things away, lol. Eat according to plan and you'll be in ketosis - really, you will be. Seriously, it is just another one of those things we we can obsess over - needlessly. lemonella, I think it was a bad stick because I done it again and was back to pink. I am fairly short lol but my RDI was recommended by my Dr. for weight loss while using Atkins because of my thyroid disease. :)
