I'm stressing a little bit. I had tacos tonight and I had the low carb whole wheat tortilla shells but I usually only have one and tonight I had two. There are 4 net carbs in each shell. I have had 24 net carbs today and I don't plan on eating for the rest of the day. Did I mess up too bad? I know one per day is allowed. I hope I didn't overdo it too badly.

Amanda, stop freaking out. It's okay. You went over by a little, but I don't think it did any damage, as long as it isn't something you do every day. I had 1/2 cup watermelon yesterday, even though it is a "forbidden" fruit. I counted the carbs, added them into my daily allotment, but was worried that it might cause cravings. It didn't, but I freaked about it all day long. It's okay, girlfirend, You're doing great!!!!

Don't worry 24 net carbs isn't bad at all! I eat that every day and do fine.

There's no magic in the number 20. It was simply a generic recommendation to get people beyond their cravings and gain control of their eating habits through blood sugar management. If the carb level you're at works for you... meaning you are still losing weight and you are not developing the old cravings for sugary junk... then you're doing great! Part of moving to OWL is figuring out this number and creating a program that works for you. Some people can deal with more carbs than others. Consider yourself lucky if all continues to go well. Personally I eat what works for me. I am walking the line between Induction and OWL and I'm happy because I feel can maintain it. If you're stressing over this WOE then maybe it's time to re-evaluate your goals? Sounds like you're doing fine though. Keep up the great work!
