My Doctor swears that cycling and Spin is the best exercise. I have had a torn meniscus and two broken ankles and legs. Cycling was part of my long drawn out physiotherapist. I continue to go out on my bike almost daily. I walk a fair bit with my two doggies but cycling is so much easier on my joints. My knee bothers me when I have walked too much, I hop on my bike for a few kilometres and the knee feels great!

I used to run on my treadmill and it ended in hip surgery. Sadly, I’m not allowed on one anymore. They are horrible for the joints 😢

Thank you for sharing the information about the spinbike. I am going to go value shopping and see if I can get a lightly used one. As it gets colder I'm doing less cycling, my goal is to lose 10 more pounds :)

Thanks everyone for your experiences and support. I myself when I first started my healthy life change made it down 10 lbs and then blown my knee out from running on the treadmill. Took about 2-2.5 months to recover which was disappointing for me when you’re trying to accomplish something big. Since then I have been on the treadmill only a couple times. I love running but now is the time to be smarter and safer as I’m not getting any younger lol, so I’m on the hunt for a spin bike which will be awesome for winter. I have a Bowflex Extreme 2 and a treadmill, just missing the bike now. My thoughts are go Big or go home lol 😂 I have been fighting my way back to good health after spinal surgery that went wrong and seriously I never thought I’d have a shot at this again!! I’m feeling very blessed 🙏🏼 Thanks everyone, keep the positive thoughts and remember there is nothing we can’t accomplish 💪🏼😀

I find I can’t run just do power walking on the tread or HIIT with inclines but I too can’t run because of my ankles and may go to a bike as my ankles and knees are sore too!

I love running too much lol I use to running around Stanley park everyday but now I just don’t trust the knees. Power walking is all I’ll do now on a treadmill. I’m trying to maintain my weight as I build muscle but just doesn’t work as fast without cardio. The joys of balancing life lol 😂

That’s very convenient @wannabhealthier, might look into that. My wife wants a spin bike also but It’s nice to know what my options are lol
