Question: how do I reproduce the calm feeling I get at the gym? My emotions overtake me at home alone.

For me, meditation works (sit down, close eyes, concentrate on breathing). I mostly work out for the 'mental benefits'. What is basically happening with me is that I am 'not thinking about the future'. All my anxiety and stress is from thinking about the future. When I work out, I am forced to be 'in the present'.

I've been trying that too. I went to Thailand this summer to learn about conservation and meditation. I guess I'll keep trying.

Seconding mindfulness meditation. Although you should still go to the gym too. 😀

I like transcendental meditation. It's free but a lot easier to practice in a quite environment...
